MADRID, SPAIN – November 27, 2025 – The NARRATE Project (regeNerAtive Resilient smaRt mAnufacTuring nEtworks), a European project focused on enhancing supply chain resilience through advanced digital technologies, successfully concluded its three-day General Assembly in Madrid, Spain, from November 25 to 27, 2025.
The meeting gathered consortium partners to align on technical integration, validate pilot progress, and define the exploitation strategy for the project’s core innovation: the Intelligent Manufacturing Custodian (IMC).
Key Outcomes and Technical Progress
The General Assembly focused on critical work package developments, moving the project closer to real-world deployment:
Intelligent Manufacturing Custodian (IMC): Partners discussed the implementation and assessment framework for the IMC, which will serve as the nerve center for self-orchestrated Smart Manufacturing Networks (SMN).
Digital Resilience Strategies: Significant progress was made on defining the Resilience Strategy and Risk Assessment. This included reviewing tools for identifying and processing risks, and developing smart advisors for early warning systems related to import dependencies and export opportunities.
Platform Architecture & Digital Twin: The architectural and platform requirements were solidified, particularly the design of the SMN Knowledge Model using Digital Twin Technology. This modeling approach is crucial for providing end-to-end visibility and enabling proactive decision-making.
Pilot Validation: Dedicated conversations were held with the Pilot partners to define the final testing and validation plan, ensuring the developed solutions are robust and effective in diverse industrial environments.
Insight into Intelligent Logistics
The Assembly kicked off with a practical element on Tuesday, November 25th, as the consortium visited the DHL warehouse. This site visit provided essential, real-world context for integrating the project’s Intelligent Logistics & Warehousing solutions, ensuring the digital platform’s features directly address modern supply chain challenges.
“Understanding how warehouses and logistics operate in real life is essential to align the development efforts of NARRATE project with actual challenges that need to be overcome. This ensures that the next step towards intelligent logistics and warehousing solutions being developed fully align with logistics sector operations and needs.” – María Ramírez (DHL)
Next Steps
The consortium concluded the assembly by defining final integration assignments and confirming the roadmap for the next project phase, which focuses heavily on real-world testing within the pilot facilities.
